TV LAND

I have been successfully whisked away to TV Land with the installation of my new 70" LED 3D 240 Hz flat screen smart TV!  The good folks known as the Geek Squad from Best Buy mounted the big boy last Thursday and ran the cables, wires and such into the wall.  I think Hollywood 20 just lost some money because my ass ain't going to the movies for a while unless it's a damn good flick!

To show it off and celebrate, I had Mom and Aunt Pat over Sunday for dinner and a movie.  Aunt Pat had been wanting to see the new Denzel Washington flick Flight so Tessa and I went and rented it the night before at Family Video down the road since we didn't want to wait on Netflix and our DirecTV had yet to be upgraded to HD (but is now as of Monday)!  The movie was good but opened with a full frontal nude scene which embarrassed the bejesus outta me even though the naked lady was none other than Nadine Velazquez (Catalina from My Name is Earl)!  Is it possible to be both humiliated and stimulated simultaneously?!

After the movie, we all followed Mom to Wally World so she could pick up a new TV of her own since her ex-boyfriend just moved out and took her 60".  Instead of paying off the 39" they were renting to own, she decided to let it go back and bought a new 40" Toshiba outright.  We loaded it into my Jeep and took it back to her apartment so I could set it up for her.  Now we both have new TVs and she has rid herself of some really bad rubbish.  FTW, bitches!

Mi Papa

What if you are having a tabu relationship and you didn't even know it. Could you marry your Brother or Sister?
Turns out that a couple who is married with children recently found out they are BROTHER AND SISTER.
They met in college and found they had much in common – they were both raised by lesbian parents and neither knew their father, who was a donor at a sperm bank.
The problem with this is that the sperm donor father was the same person, so now they are husband, wife ... sister and brother  I could not imagine how I would fell.  Because of the tabu of incest, I could not continue to be married .

Friday night marked the Grand Opening/Open House of the Upstate's newest gentlemen's club, Teazers of Spartanburg!  I had the honor of getting to broadcast live from the venue and had a fantastic time with the staff of lovely ladies!

I even got to get on stage and throw out Planet tees (fortunately while keeping my own on)!

I still managed to make it home and spend a little time with MY lovely lady before she went to bed since she had to work all weekend.  Thankfully she will be off this weekend!

SAYING GOODBYE AND GETTING AWAY

Last week, Tessa's grandfather passed away so Tessa took a day off work to go and be with her family.  Then on Saturday, we both went up to Rutherford County, NC for the memorial service.  After the service, we joined friends and family for a meal then caught a little show going on in the neighborhood of the church as some crazy redneck woman was kicking the crap out of her daughter out in the street.  Needless to say, the cops were called and the crazy bitch was arrested.  Thankfully I didn't see her kicking the kid or my ass would have been hauled off as well!

After the charade, we took Tessa's mom back home to spend some time away with us in Mauldin.  We took her out to go see Warm Bodies at Hollywood 20 since she hadn't seen it and Tessa wanted to see it again since she enjoyed it so much when we caught the sneak preview a few days before it opened.

After the movie, we took her out to eat at Cheddar's then headed home to retire after a long, eventful day.

The next day we ran to PetSmart then grabbed some lunch at Panera.  While we were eating, I checked my bank account and discovered that my income taxes had been deposited.  So, after lunch, we ran to Best Buy so I could pick up a new HDTV since I'd been wanting one ever since we bought our house!  After weighing our options, we decided to go with the 70" Sharp Aquos Quattron which will be delivered on Sunday then mounted and installed next Thursday!  I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Musings on Love This Valentine's Day

Being that Valentines is now just three days away, I feel compelled to speak about something I'm currently going through and lessons learned from it.  A relationship with someone whom I cared for very deeply ended recently.  I can't say that petty differences are the reason.  In this situation is boils very simply down to fundamentals, and a difference in opinion on how we both view our past looking through that lens.  I have no interest in going into details or pointing fingers, but I've learned a few lessons from my experience.

Maintaining any relationship is a two way street, it's compromise.  This applies to both daily interaction and deeper issues.  Ladies, no matter how hard you try, you're never going to change your man -- afterall why would you want to? -- You fell for him the way he was before, not for what you thought he might be.  You have to be willing to meet in the middle, synthesize your problems and commit to resolving them.  You will never find everything you want in a single person.  You will never agree with everything a person says or does, but if you care for that person you love them for their flaws as much as their strengths.

Let go of the past, whether it be issues stemming from past relationships, or those from your current one.  If you want to make something work you can't let your own baggage infect your attempt -- because it will if you let it.

Relationships are supposed to be work, but not THAT much work.  You work on doing the little things to make the other happy (or you work on showing your appreciation for the little things the other one does), you work on communicating, you work on spending more time together.  When effort becomes labor you're in trouble.

Weird Events Lately

There have been alot of weird events to happen lately.  The 2 most recent events to happen was at the big game with the power outage and then the rumors and sightings of the drones. What does all of this mean.  In the power outage at the big game my opinion is that it had to due with ratings to get more people to watch that werent watching the game anyway to tune in which did happen.  The outage to about 20 to 25 min to get the power back on however it did change the tide in the game where it was starting to be a blowout and then turned into a close game.  Very weird circumstances there and then the drones.  Sightings of the drones around the area and across the country have been running rampid lately.  What does all this mean?

Manson Pukes

Marilyn Manson had a scary moment on stage last night . While performing In Canada-- he collapsed, reportedly vomiting.  Manson was playing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when he fell to the floor mid-song. The song was "Beautiful People"..  Meanwhile, the band kept playing, so fans at first thought it was part of the act. Only when medical personnel rushed on stage did they realize it was a real emergency. There are no further reports at this time in regards to his current condition.

Update: As of Friday, I found out that Manson had the Flu.  I admire the fact that he tried to perform
for his fans. It only goes to show how bad the flu virus is this year.  Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and now -Manson have all been sick on stage.

Manson's apparent illness comes after he was involved in a brutal fight in Switzerland in December. The rocker required 24 stitches to reattach his ear to his head following the incident during his Twins of Evil tour in Europe. After the injury,  he tweeted a picture of his ear along with details of the altercation.

Disturbed is on a unspecifed hiatus. And, if you think Dave Draiman is taking it easy, think a again!  Dave has been busy working on a solo project The new band this  is called Device. He has a pretty impressive list of guest artists, including Serj Tankian, Tom Morello, and M. Shadows. Draiman also covers the Ozzy/Lita Ford song "Cose My Eye Forever", in a duet with Lizzy Hale from Halestorm.  Device's first single is  "Vilify", which is expected to be released on feb. 19th. The self titled disc is due out April 9th. You can see Device and Halestorm on the Carolina Rebellion tour.
