Every unsigned band in the country will say its music is “awesome” and “unique,” but while many of these bands are wasting energy blowing hot air, Charlotte modern rock band Fusebox Poet is out proving itself to rock music fans all over the east coast music scene. Impressing the sorts of fans that RED, Anberlin, Sleeping With Sirens, and Breaking Benjamin records in their CD players, Fusebox Poetholds the line on a commercial rock sound fusing it with electronic keys and high melodies. Myriad influences and a shared drive to create and perform great music charge this band with the power to bring those sounds to life onstage.
Musical magnetism among the band members presented itself even before they hit the stage for the first time in July 2010; what began as a writing session for an EP blossomed into a full-length CD almost effortlessly. The band focuses its songwriting on creating high-energy tunes that fuse powerful rhetoric with an array of moods, thus creating a diverse and vibrant body of work for their self-titled debut album. Since the album’s release in November 2010, critics and fans alike have touted the music as “a pleasant surprise” among the onslaught of rock albums coming out from new, unsigned, regional bands these days.
The band has played five national festivals including Rock Allegiance Tour, Florida Music Festival, Atlanta Driven Music Conference, North Carolina Speed Street 2011 & 2012. These festivals span across four states in the southeast with over fifteen national artists. Fusebox Poet aspires to spiral out even farther from their home turf in the southeast music scene and meet new fans around the country. Having trekked up and down the East Coast and throughout the Southeast five times on D.I.Y. tours, the band seeks to team up with more established up-and-coming rock artists to extend their reach into the national touring circuit and show their fusion of of sound.
