Adam Gontier Rant on Facebook

If you're unaware, there has been a long brewing stew of discontent among the members of Three Days Grace which came to a head with founding lead singer Adam Gontier leaving the band in early 2013. Rumor mills have been spitting out theories as to why (mostly concerning drug use, as Adam had been in rehab previously), but no one truly knew. Adam says he's clean and sober. Here's something he posted on his facebook page that addressed the rumors and spoke his side of his departure:

to the people that come here and attempt to get their frustration about my old band out, I have no problem with you posting your opinion of the events that took place. We all know that I have posted many things that, in retrospect, weren't necessary. (I probably still will the odd time)
BUT do NOT forget this.

You DO NOT know, no matter WHO you are, how I, or anybody in that band feels now, or have felt, over the past 5-7 years. And unless I am willing to share those feelings with you personally, you never will. There may, or may not be, a point when I feel I want to share that with you.

If you truly believe that I will return to that band, you haven't really listened to what I've said, and you need to accept what happened, and move forward. Easier said than done... I am constantly working on becoming the best person that I can be, and moving forward and not focusing on the past is hard to do, but also very necessary, when things change.

Many of you out there have decided to make reality, and decisions, out of ignorance. Many of you have chosen to just chalk everything up to... "the way Adam left was wrong and he "screwed them over", or left them "high and dry". How do you know in what manner I left that group? Were you there? Were you a part of it? You were left with "further details of Adam's departure", written by "the band", or people surrounding them. And that's where it's left. By myself as well. So I guess I can assume that we all really DO believe, whole heartedly, what we read on the Internet. What you won't see from me are "further details as to the numerous events, attitudes, and internal battles & frustration built up over years and years, that lead to Adam's departure". It's unnecessary. I know. They know. They "choose to take the high road"..., If you feel a need to tell people again and again that you're taking the "high road".., I'm sorry, but truth is, you're already ON the low road. When you feel as though you have to tell, and explain to thousands of people on a daily basis, that you're a good person, chances are... you're not. You're obviously too self absorbed to realize that other people actually exist, and that they, themselves, have their own lives and problems Just Like You.
My life is good. No, actually it's f#*^n' great. I love my wife so much I miss her when she goes into the other room. I love my family, my dad, my brothers my sister, my real friends, and my beautiful dog & daughter Mabel! I'm actually playing music now with people who, first off, truly are playing music because they actually LOVE it, and LIVE for it. And by "it" I don't mean the "life of a rockstar"., I don't mean the endless amounts demands that you will always get when you are "successful"., I don't mean the money, the hotel rooms, the parties, the kiss ass DJ's, the gophers that get you toilet paper on your demand, the going to the after party club in a limo and being the one, (you think), everyone is looking at, the food brought to your bus on a paper plate backstage at a festival that you're headlining because you don't want people to see you before you go on stage and pretend (lie) to your fans that you're so f*^*n' stoked to be in their hometown, which actually MEANS something to your fans, while you don't even know what the towns name is, other than knowing that you're "somewhere close to Chicago I think". The ego. No. I don't mean the ego.
"It" is not the ego. "It" is making music. In it's TRUE form. The way it is meant to be made. With no pre conceived notions of making sure it will be catchy and under three minutes, so it'll make the radio. With no demands from your mates to write out a set list of the same 15 songs you've played every day, like a robot, just for something to do. The first show I played with my new band was amazing! Do you know why? Because we rehearsed ONCE before we played that show. We didn't know what was going to happen. We had guitars, drums and amps that we'd never used, set up behind us. No expectations. None. When we all sat down together on the day of our first rehearsal, I said to them,
"What do u guys wanna play?"
"Well, it's your call man. Whatever you think we should do"
My call? We ended up sitting down on the couches, eating some food, shootin the shit, & crackin jokes. For HOURS. We had to play our very first show together in about 36 hours. Most would consider jamming for maybe 2 out of 8 hours a waste of time. Perfect segue into an all time favorite Lennon quote:
"Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted."
(Then we broke into "Instant Karma") .... No.... We didn't. I think it was "Never Too Late". We did some Lennon later, because it was just fun to do.
I guess my point of this whole rant that I've been punching into my phone, is that there are two sides to every story. We all know that. We hear it all the time. Do we all practice it? Actually live by it in a situation such as mine? Thankfully many do. Unfortunately, even more don't.
My old band was and is pigeonholed, and always will be. For my mental health, because we all try to make sure we stay healthy, and are concerned when we feel like we aren't, I had to move on and evolve. Whether it meant crawling and scratching my way back into the ears of music fans out there or not. Didn't matter. I could not and will not, sacrifice the music that I make, that I was born with and that is "in my blood", for a false reality. Unfortunately, people find it hard to see the big picture. Writing the same songs with the same chords, with the same basic lyrical ideas and the same drop D power chords, is too easy. Once you've made it, with that formula, it's next to impossible to escape.
I am thankful every single morning I wake up, that I was able to escape.
And every morning I am even more thankful and honored that so many people get it, and are following me on this journey. It's a brand new journey with no destination. Everything happens for a reason. For some purpose. I can feel deep down, that this journey has more purpose than I could have imagined...
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Wow. That was about 2 hours typing all of that. The perfect amount of time it took for my first upload to finally finish.
Yep. I'll post it in about 5 minutes!
And just to answer your questions that you may feel a need to ask after watching it.... Yes. I will play ANY song that I have written, or have been a part of writing, ANY time I feel like it, ANYWHERE I decide to. Cool?
I've got no regrets.
Nuff said! lol.
Peace,
Adam

Spoiler Alert!

Thursday night I caught the midnight premier of Iron Man 3 in IMAX 3D. Iron Man 3 had all the familiar plot points that made parts 1 and 2 so much fun: a sociopathic, ego driven Tony Stark is on top of the world when a bad guy arrives to shatter that, shake Tony's confidence, send him and the suit back to the drawing board, and ultimately give him the opportunity to adapt and overcome to save the day. In this installment, a flashback shows Tony snubbing a young scientist (Aldrich Killian) who teams up with an idealistic botanist working on a cellular regeneration project (think lizards who regrow their tails when injured) and uses her work for eeeevil! Iron Man 3 does use some of the same plot devices to keep a similar feel to parts 1 and 2, but approaches them in different ways and does allude to both the Avengers and real-life threats like international terrorism. One thing I've always liked about the Iron Man series is it's rooted in what is plausible. All of the technology and gadgets in Tony's suits have felt like they're on the real-life horizon, however 'the Avengers' gave Iron Man 3 permission to break away from that just a bit. Some super hero movie cliche's are all too familiar, such as the girl being captured forcing the good guy to save her. The ending came across as a little confusing to me (without giving it away), if doing X doesn't kill the bad guy the first time, why would it kill him the second time? The way the villain is finally defeated also poses and interesting sign of the times, but left a strange (not bad, just strange) taste in my mouth.

Sad Day in Boston

As details are still coming in, it would be inappropriate of me to go into details of today's events in Boston.  I would however like to make a request to anyone who may be so inclined, PLEASE do not try to politicize this event, do not try to fit this tragedy into whatever idealogical beef you may have.  Remember those who have been hurt or killed and their families, pray for them.

This One Time In Spartanburg

Always hearing about the crazy sh*t that goes down in the Sparkle City...last year a dude was selling wooden iPads outside a McDonalds, another guy I heard about was arrested driving around with a balloon of drugs up his b-hole.  Is everyone in that town nuts?  I wanted to hear your stories of "This One Time In Spartanburg..."

Musings on Love This Valentine's Day

Being that Valentines is now just three days away, I feel compelled to speak about something I'm currently going through and lessons learned from it.  A relationship with someone whom I cared for very deeply ended recently.  I can't say that petty differences are the reason.  In this situation is boils very simply down to fundamentals, and a difference in opinion on how we both view our past looking through that lens.  I have no interest in going into details or pointing fingers, but I've learned a few lessons from my experience.

Maintaining any relationship is a two way street, it's compromise.  This applies to both daily interaction and deeper issues.  Ladies, no matter how hard you try, you're never going to change your man -- afterall why would you want to? -- You fell for him the way he was before, not for what you thought he might be.  You have to be willing to meet in the middle, synthesize your problems and commit to resolving them.  You will never find everything you want in a single person.  You will never agree with everything a person says or does, but if you care for that person you love them for their flaws as much as their strengths.

Let go of the past, whether it be issues stemming from past relationships, or those from your current one.  If you want to make something work you can't let your own baggage infect your attempt -- because it will if you let it.

Relationships are supposed to be work, but not THAT much work.  You work on doing the little things to make the other happy (or you work on showing your appreciation for the little things the other one does), you work on communicating, you work on spending more time together.  When effort becomes labor you're in trouble.

Gun Control

To this point I've more  or less kept my mouth shut on the issue of the day...gun control.  Perhaps it's because I don't pretend to know everything, nor do I make rash decisions based on a small piece of information.

I'm in the studio right now doing the show and of course, CNN is covering the issue.  I'd like to applaud the team for making a very clear point I think most people don't know:  An assault weapon does not equal a machine gun (which have been illegal in this country since the 1930's).  An assault weapon is generally characterized as such based on it's features; i.e. tactical rails, upgraded sites, grips, etc.  One trigger pull = one round fired.  By that logic, an assault weapon is equally as deadly (or effective depending on your point of view) as a hand gun.  Again, as such an assault weapon ban doesn't make much sense at all.  At least with an assault weapon you can see if someone's got it because they're so big.

I don't think any new gun control is necessary.  We have thousands of gun laws on the books, and politics has neutered those laws.

In my opinion, we need to examine, overhaul, and streamline the laws we already have instead of making everything more convoluted.

Is Manti an Evil Genius?

Huge news story today, it turns out the girlfriend of Notre Dame star linebacker Manti Te'o never even existed.  All reports are saying now he was having a romantic relationship online with a woman he'd never met, and as it turns out it was someone posing as this woman.  Personally I believe that story.  He's a high profile athlete and I think someone was preying on that.  My caller, however believes it was all an elaborate hoax to help him gain sympathy votes so he could win the Heisman Trophy.  Listen to the full call here:

Bless Me Father...For You're a Freak

This happened back in November, but the 911 call audio has just come out.  Pastor Tom Donovan from St. Aloysius church in Springfield, IL called 911 because he was stuck in a pair of handcuffs...but he wasn't robbed.  He also had a ball gag in his mouth.  Apparently he was getting freaky in the church but his lover apparently ran off and abandoned him.  Well that's not very Christian of him/her.

Santa on Shooms -- Seems Legit

We all know today's Christmas is nothing like Christmas in years gone past.  In the 17 and 1800's Christmas carolers used to knock on people's doors, sing songs, and demand alcohol and food (sounds like the aftermath of the Rise Guys Christmas Party).

An anthropologist from Sierra College in California thinks he's discovered the original roots of the Santa Claus "myth":

His theory on the origin of the Santa story comes from priests in the Arctic and Siberian region dropping hallucinogenic mushrooms into people's teepees in late December up until the 1700s.  He theorizes, "Until a few hundred years ago, these shamans or priests would collect the mushrooms, dry them, and then give them as gifts.  Because snow is usually blocking the doors, there was an opening in the roof, thus the chimney story."

That also helps explain the flying reindeer.  There are a ton of reindeer in Siberia.  They don't fly . . . but if everyone's tripping on shrooms, it's a lot easier to hallucinate and think they're flying.

Most of the rest of the modern Santa Claus story comes from "Twas the Night Before Christmas", which was published in 1823.

F THE POLICE!

I've been pulled over a few times in my life.  Luckly enough, never gotten a ticket for anything, but just about every time the officer has been MUCH ruder than he needed to be (you treat me with respect, I treat you with respect...deal?), but THIS is freaking ridiculous.  A Texas State Trooper pulled two women over after the driver flicked a cigarette butt out of the car window.  In the video, you can see the officer claims to smell a heavy odor of marijuana in the vehicle.  Apparently there were no visible signs of drugs in the car, nor did the driver or passenger show any signs of being on drugs.  But the officer pulled both people out of the car, where both were subjected to a road side cavity search WITH THE SAME PAIR OF GLOVES.  Gah this is gross.  Watch the video below, the search commences at around 2:50.

Trust Issues

Facebook blew up on this as well, here are some of the best comments:

Ses P. dont say a word and put the tracker in a taxi

James J. Have her arrested for unlawful electronic surveillance then kick her out, the end.

Jennifer T. his fault for cheating once the trust is broken it takes forever to get back! but if she cant trust him than maybe she need to find someone else

Adam P. He should eat a dick for cheating and understand there's reasoning for the trust issue.

Gordon S. I put mine on a STATE TROOPER'S car, that I saw sitting at a restaurant. I bet het lawyer loved that. Idiots!!!!!!!

Dawn R. Break it off immediately...go to the nearest truck stop...stick it on a semi....make her think u skipped town with someone!

Let's (not) go bowling

It's that time of year again....no, not the Christmas shopping season, the bowl season.  The time of year when #3 in the BCS polls gets snubbed, and their fan base issues a resounding "rabble rabble rabble"

I for one am thankful the BCS system dies next year in favor of a 4 team playoff for the national championship.  The fans have wanted this for years, it's just a shame it's taken so long for the BCS and conference commissioners to listen to what the customers want.  I've said for 3 years, since the debate began, to let #1 - #4 playoff for the championship, and let #5 + play their gift bag bowls.  See, I went to Appalachian State, an FCS school where we've been playing off for a championship for years.  Playoff football is great and opens the door for more schools to play for a title.

It's about time!

A Time To Walk / A Time To Crawl

It pains me to say this, but this weekend I have to sell off my buddy, I'm selling my 2010 Jeep Wrangler that I bought brand new off the lot with 17 miles on it.  "Vic" (as in Vic Rattlehead - playing on how awesomely rough the ride is) will go the way of the budget cut.

Vic is my dream Jeep.  I've put a 2" Skyjacker lift kit, 33" Nitto Terra Grappler tires, windshield mounted KC fog lights, NASCAR style billet aluminum hood clamps, along with plenty of other smaller accessories onto it.  Alas, I'm trying to downsize and get a hold on my finaicial situation again.

At least I'm trading it for something cool, a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a lfit kit and mud tires.

So pour out a little bit for my homie, as the trade happens this weekend.

Mountains Out Of Molehills

Whew!  The election is FINALLY over.  It's time for us to get back to hating each other for our race, religion, and sexual orientation...you know, the important stuff.  I'm 28 and I've only been politically aware / old enough to vote in the last three elections, but it seems to me that in addition to the news discourse getting nastier and nastier, we are acting nastier and nastier towards each other.  Over what?  Politics?

Call me a cynic, but I am under the general impression that my life isn't going to change much no matter who is elected president.  Think about it: every politician knows swinging too far in either direction is political suicide (besides, politicians always vow to dismantle whatever the other side does when they take back control).

I need everyone to calm down and be sensible, and go back to hating your neighbor because he's black, not because he's a Democrat.

Customer Support

Three words that make me cringe every time I hear them..."Charter tech support".  Anyone who has or has had Charter knows what I'm talking about.  How does a company get away with providing such a mockery to the word "support".

I called them because I've had a consistent problem with some of my HD channels pixelating.  Sometimes it's a small annoyance, sometimes the problem makes blocks the program altogether.  After 25 minutes of automated support I finally reached someone (who of course could barely speak English) who proceeded to tell me that "sometimes the sun's rays affect the satellite" -- REALLY?  Finally after another 30 minutes being on the phone we set up an appointment for a crew to come to my apartment and investigate and promised they'd be bringing me a brand new box.

The crew showed up with 20 minutes left in the appointment window, and predictably, couldn't replicate the problem and left without doing anything.  Now I get to wait until this happens again and call them back out.  What happened to "yes sir, we'll take care of it" and have that be it?

DAFUQ IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE

Ever watch that Taboo series on National Geographic?  I've seen dudes with deformities get prostitutes, I've seen a woman fall in love with the Berlin wall, but THIS is just plain effed up.  I can't tell exactly where this is taking place, but there are quite a few Japanese speaking people, so let's assume Japan.  It's a process of injecting saline solution under the skin on your forehead, then pressing an indention into it, and calling yourself a "bagel head".  Just watch:

Hey Man, Can You Help Me Move?

It's that time again, if you live in an apartment you know it all too well...your lease is up and you have to beg your landlords for mercy, as they're trying to raise your rent some rediculous amount...like mine are doing right now.

Two years ago I took advantage of a really great move in special (and a managerial mistake) at a community in Greenville, and was put into a two bedroom apartment for the same rent as a one bedroom.  The first time my lease came up for renewal I talked them into just a slight bump in my rent....round 1 Diesel.  This time around they're out for blood, demanding a $200/month increase and they won't budge...knockout punch.

It's really gotten under my skin their complete unwillingness to work with me.  I offered to pay another small increase, but to no avail.  I understand how supply and demand works.  The housing market sucks, so people are moving families into apartments.  Demand goes up, supply stays the same, so price must go up, but to force a loyal, trouble free tennant out of their apartment just seems wrong.

Any thoughts or housing loopholes I can use here?

Middlemen

Remember in 'Office Space' when Tom Smykowski interviews with the Bob's for his job?  Tom gets flustered and angry when they ask him, "So, what would you say you do here?" and "Why can't the customers just go straight to the software people"?  He replies, "Look, I already told you, I deal with the g*ddamn customers so the engineers don't have to".

That's how I feel right about now, why can't the customers talk directly to the service techs?  I just spent another hour of my life trying to locate a popping sound coming from underneath my Jeep.  I've probably spent at least an hour on three separate occasions at Tire Kingdom (who installed my lift kit) and three separate occasions at Big O Dodge trying to figure it out.  Each one of them saying, "we can't figure it out, must be the other guy's fault".  I just left TK, and after an hour they came out and said, "well we can't figure it out, we can't make it do what you're saying it does, your lift kit is fine, might be your drive line, take it back to Big O where that service is under warranty".  So, naturally I say, "why don't you hop in the car with me and I'll show you".  10 seconds in, it does it and the customer service rep (not the tech) goes, "OOOOH, NOW I HEAR IT, yeah!"  And of course, by that time I had to leave.

Instead of spending an hour going around in circles trying to figure out what I was saying, they could've just asked me and been on point in less than 10 seconds.

Better Be Rich...

How much would it cost you to BE Batman?

--A website has calculated the cost of becoming Batman and it comes out to approximately $785,000.  Here's a breakdown . . .

--One year of elite martial arts training, $75,000.

--Kevlar utility harness, $340.

--Gas-powered magnetic grappling gun, $1,800.

--Advanced Kevlar armor bat suit, $300,000.

--Cape with hang glider potential, $3,400.

--Proper Bat vehicle.  In lieu of building the Batmobile or Batman's Tumbler, you'll probably want a Humvee for $140,000.

--Custom graphite helmet, $250.  Bruce Wayne orders 10,000 of them . . . but you're going to get started with one.

--Sound amplifier for bat ears, $30.

--Full-time butler, $263,000.

--Ten Boomerangs and five riot grenades, $1,200.

--Twenty cans of black spray paint, $120.

--TOTAL COST:  $785,140.

--Also, you don't NEED a house with a hidden Bat Cave underneath . . . but if you want one, it's estimated that Wayne Manor is 42,500 square feet and costs about $32.1 MILLION.  It's got 11 bedrooms, seven baths, a pool, and, again, a hidden Bat Cave

Lamb of God's Randy Blythe Arrested

So here's what we know: Randy Blythe, lead singer of Lamb of God has been arrested on manslaughter charges by Czech police after an incident that took place in 2010 at a Prague concert.  Randy and a stage hand "threw" a fan who had jumped onto the stage back into the crowd.  The 19 year old man fell directly on his head.  After a few weeks being in critical condition, the young man died as a result of his injuries.  Footage has been released via Czech TV of the incident which you can see here.  The incident takes place about :59 seconds in.  By all eyewitness accounts it is being described as an accident, not a fight.  According to Czech TV Blythe was not aware of the fan's death and expressed remorse upon hearing the news.  Randy took part in a 90 minute court hearing today, June 30th and is still in custody.  His bail is set at approx. $200,000 US.

What's wrong with a 7 foot tall red furry symbol of our childhood going off on an anti-semetic rant?  Watch this video of a man famous for delighting children in his Elmo costume in NYC's Central Park blow a gasket.  Police stress that he wasn't "arrested", he was just "removed in handcuffs".

Alice Cooper slams modern rock

-- My pet peeve right now is that 80 to 90% of the modern rock bands are just testosterone free.  I'm listening to these bands going, "Where's the spark?  Where's the fire?"

-- You get in a rock band to be something different.  I guess modern rock bands just really want to blend in and I think it's the most boring time in rock I've ever seen.

-- These bands are whining like crazy.  It's like they're trying NOT to be rock stars.

-- I just don't get the fact that everyone is so against having an image.

He went on to say that two artists he's really impressed with right now are Jack White and the Foo Fighters.

PREACH IT ALICE!  I think a lot of modern rock bands have the "if we step out of the main stream we'll get swept away in the current" mindset.  Meaning if they do something "different" they'll be forgotten.

In a way I think he's dead on.  It's the old school "sell out" debate.  I've seen some of my favorite "out there" rock and metal bands fall in line with the mainstream (ahem, Mudvayne, Slipknot) and become homogenized rock bands.

MAIL TIME

Diesel,

Well, it's been a while, but here I am requesting another song.  I recently read that Metallica are doing a tour in which they will play the "Black Album" in its entirety...backwards!  This is cool because a lot of those songs towards the end of the album never get any airplay.  Hence my request:  The God That Failed.

While you're at it, wish me luck - I'm up for promotion to minimum-custody (green clothes) in June.  These a**holes have turned me down twice already.  I can only come up for review every six months.  I need my "greens" so I can strive for work release and build some capitol up for when I get out in 2016.  I've been "down" for over 5 years with zero infractions (no trouble) and I've worked for slave wages the whole time.  The powers that be said they turned me down because I have a violent crime.  But they steady pass this sh*t out to f*cking chesters!  All I did was run out of crack and rob a store.  C'mon!  Who hasn't done that before.

Later dude,
Prison Zack

Get You Some!!!

Researchers at the University of Texas have identified the main signs men look for when they THINK a woman is easy.

-- Acting or dressing childish or goofy

-- Looking sleepy

-- Looking or acting drunker than reality

-- Licking her lips a lot.

-- Touching her own breasts??? - This one is crazy obvious but I don't think I've ever seen a woman do this.

Thank You VERY Much

To anyone who works in the service industry,

Today I turn 28 years old.  I don't know if I'm getting pickier with age or if things really are this bad everywhere I go.  There are people like me who think a waiter or bartender's tip should be reflective of the level of service provided.  Perhaps I'm missing something here, but I am of the opinion that the subtotal on my bill states (however marked up) the cost of the tangible food I just ate plus various other business expenses.  Your TIP is based on two simple things:  effort and attitude.  If you can't provide either, I shouldn't feel compelled to help you make money.

I come to a restaurant or bar to get away from my problems, not feel the wrath and/or apathy associated with yours.

Last night I stopped to grab a beer and some wings at Quaker Steak and Lube in Greenville.  The bartender was a jerk, ignored me for the first 5 minutes I was sitting right in front of him, never asked once if the food was ok or if I needed anything until after I had had time to finish everything, and treated everyone else at the bar the same way.  So, on a $16.50 bill I tipped him $1 (and he didn't even deserve that).

I have worked in the service industry.  I know what it's like to work for variable amounts of money on a daily basis.  I am a very generous tipper when good service is provided, and I'm more than willing to be a crappy tipper when it's not.

Leave your comments below if you feel the same way.

Want chicks? Do this (apparently)

Morgan Spurlock, the 'Supersize Me' guy has a new documentary coming out...apparently guys are supposed to be manscaping now more than ever.  Here are the five rules they gave for keeping yourself together (and ultimately getting laid):

1.  Shave or wax your back, but keep it a secret...let it be a mystery like, "honey where'd all that hair go?"

2.  Don't shave your chest, but if you have some freaky Austin Powers thing going on...you might want to trim.

3.  Never go completely bald in your nether regions.  Apparently it makes women think you're trying too hard.

4.  Don't shave your face on the weekends...chicks dig stubble.

5.  If you're not a cyclist or swimmer never EVER shave your arms or legs.

Still I don't know what the big deal is...Tom Selleck never manscaped and my mom still watches Magnum P.I. every night.

Diesel's Broken Toe

So I don't know if you've been keeping up with my facebook fan page @diesel933 but on Tuesday, May 2nd I woke up to use the bathroom around 6am.  I was so bleary eyed and sleepy that on my way back to bed I walked right into my bedroom door frame (a gauntlet which I've successfully navigated about six THOUSAND times).

My manhood was uninjured but I'm PREEETY sure I broke a toe on my left foot, and I want to keep you up to date with my progress here on my blog.  WHY?  Idk, maybe your sick twisted ass is interested, haha.

This photo was taken on day two May 3rd.

Exercising my rights

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

The fathers of this country believed in those words enough to make it the second amendment ot the United States constitution.  Just about two weeks ago I exercised my right to bear arms and purchased my first gun.  A Springfield Armory XD .45 ACP.  Do I feel my life or property are in any immediate danger?  No, of course not.  But one thought has come to mind since I became a gun owner.  You might not believe in guns, but the bad guys do.  I became a gun owner for several reasons:  security, preparedness, and recreation.  Shooting is cathartic.  It's a great stress relief and its fun.

Do you own firearms?  What kind?

TIME TO MOVE ON!!!

It's been six days since Whitney Houston died and I can't get away from the coverage.  CNN devoted over an hour of programming to "remembering Whitney" tonight and for the life of me I can't figure out why.

Look, I'm not an insensitive pr**k, but let's face facts, people overdose and die EVERY DAY and most of us don't bat an eyelash, but when a celebrity goes on a path of self destruction and kills themselves suddenly they are a saint who needs to be remembered.  What's the matter, Charlie Sheen didn't take his addiction far enough for everyone?  People said he was a doped up animal, but HE lived.  Would everyone have ignored his recent exploits and sanctified him if he'd died?  Seeing her blood means we forget Whitney did this to herself?  Just because she sang a few hit songs in the 90's we put her on a pedestal?  Seems like a sliding / warped scale of morality to me.

I'm not saying that she doesn't deserve remembrance, but IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON.  A sudden and unexpected death is a tragedy.  What she did is called being a junkie and paying the price for it.

Should I feel bad for feeling this way?

METALLICA -- Irrelivant? Sad But True

It pains me to say it, but it's like finding out your best friend likes dudes and has been secretly checking you out for years; ignore it all you want but the problem is still there.

How can it be that arguably the BIGGEST rock and metal band of all time just doesn't matter in today's music landscape?  *AHEM...Lars, James, Kirk, Robert...* THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUT OUT CRAP ALBUM AFTER CRAP ALBUM. I was twelve when 'Load' came out in 1996.  I bought it on the strength of songs like "Until It Sleeps" and "King Nothing", which I still think are great tracks, but it wasn't until I looked backward and found possibly the greatest four album streak ever:  'Kill 'Em All', 'Ride the Lightning', 'Master of Puppets', and '...And Justice For All' that I realized how good this band had really been.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is no metal head is going to run back into their burning house to save their copy of 'St. Anger' or *shudders* 'Lulu'.  When you're riding around with your boys, do you say, "Hey man...crank that insert name here song from 'Death Magnetic'"?  I think not.

They can keep putting out albums for the next 15 years, and yeah, I'll keep buying them hoping to hear something that reminds me of 'Battery' but you won't catch me holding my breath for it...otherwise I'd end up as dead as their relevance.

But hey, this is just my opinion.  What do you think?  Leave a comment below
