Tides of Sobek was formed in February 2012 by guitarist Jake Irons and Black Hand Throne drummer Rushton Stegall. In April 2012 ex-Manticore and current Black Hand Throne vocalist Denny Stone joined the band and after adding Dog Fight bassist Justin Bond, the Tides of Sobek lineup was complete.
 
The bands music is straightforward traditional American Metal taking influences from bands such as Lamb
 of God, As I Lay Dying, Slipknot, Pantera, etc.
 
Tides of Sobek recorded their first three-song demo in July and are currently working with Heather Stone of Damned Promotions to book show across the southeast in the upcoming months and are looking to branch out and play shows up and down the east coast in the future.
