Friday night after work Tessa and I went out to Ground Zero to see INVIOLATE from Atlanta. SEPARATE THE KIDS opened the show then Kadria and company was on. They had a slow start at first but they managed to win over the crowd as most of them had never been 'inviolated'!
After their set, I introduced X-MAS and got to see them play for the first time. The show actually ended at a pretty decent hour so we got to go home and get some good sleep before heading to Rutherford County the next day to see Tessa's mom.
We decided to take Vader with us so he could play with some other dogs while we went out for her mom's birthday. We picked up some Chinese food on the way then went down to Spartanburg for some shopping then caught the 6:45 showing of Pixar's Brave. I was a bit skeptic of the film thinking it was going to be another Ratatouille which is one of my least favorite Pixar films. However I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the film.
After the movie, we went and got some dinner at Red Lobster before heading back to Rutherford County to get the dog. I don't think we got back home until about 1:30 or so! Needless to say, we were worshipping St. Mattress on Sunday!
When I did get up on Sunday (around noon I might add), I started doing laundry so we could go see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with my guitarist Moon later that afternoon. I loved the first half of the film where good ol' Honest Abe was just a young lad slaughtering vampires. However, when the politics kicked in, the film got a little slow but then finished strong. Overall a fun film as long as you're looking for something historically ludicrous!
